The SchoolTeaching Staff Exams Dance Shows Legal Responsibilities How To Find UsThe Katie Lawrance Theatre Dance School was established in November 2003, and opened its doors in Langford, Bedfordshire with just two small ballet classes on a Saturday morning. Since that time we have moved our home to Henlow and growth has been sure and steady, with the school now offering 34 regular weekly classes, supporting around 200 pupils. We have also just acquired a small branch in Biggleswade, based at Millenium House. We offer classes in theatre dance, namely ballet, tap and modern, and classes run to the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) syllabi. We also offer extra-curricular classes in streetjazz and 'stretch, strength and stamina'. Classes are open to pupils aged 3 years and upwards, and are currently held at the Henlow Methodist Hall on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Biggleswade classes currently take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. We believe that dance can provide many benefits to young and old alike: Develops rhythm and musicality Improves co-ordination and develops good posture Provides a social and active environment Boosts self-esteem and confidence Increases fitness Can provide a method of expression Gives sense of achievement outside an academic setting
