KATIE LAWRANCE BA HONS F.I.S.T.D.

Katie danced as a child in North East Lincolnshire, taking exams and competing locally, nationally and internationally.
On completing A-levels she gained a BA Hons Degree in German at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. After working in the banking sector for a couple of years, Katie re-trained as a dance teacher with Penny Meekings at The Dance College, gaining her Certificate in Dance Education in Imperial Ballet, Tap, Modern Theatre and National.
Katie ran her own dance school in Bedfordshire for 10 years teaching all genres, and then continued to freelance, teaching Tap and Modern at various schools and colleges across the country. She furthered her training with Penny Meekings, reaching Fellowship level in Tap, and becoming an Approved Tutor for the DDE qualification.
Katie has been tutoring the DDE qualification through a number of Approved Dance Centres since 2010, concentrating on the contextual units since 2016.
